In honor of Claudia Cardinale, the Fondazione – in collaboration with l’Agence de l’Erreur – has produced a poetical tribute to its founder.

Like a tightrope walker, the director Manuel Maria Perrone wanders on the fine line which unites two sides of Claudia : the elderly woman she is today and the forever young cinema icon. He accompanies Claudia in a ballet between past memories and the present day, by creating around her the crazy, circus-like liveliness of a film set.
Un Cardinale Donna was created to accompany and honor Claudia Cardinale’s retrospective, produced by Cinecittà, at the MoMA in New York from the 3rd to the 21st of February 2023.
L’indomabile
The retrospective, organized by Cinecittà, traveled throughout the world after its kickoff at the MoMA in New York in February 2023. Cinecittà’s important restoration of some of Claudia’s films including Fellini’s 8 ½ and Bebo’s Girl by Luigi Comencini, has traveled to Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive and has been presented in Dolce Vita sur Seine in Paris from the 8th to the 12 of July 2023.This restoration and retrospective also gave rise to another major initiative: the publication by Cinecittà – Electa of “Claudia Cardinale. L’indomabile – The Indomitable” curated by the actress’s daughter and directrice of the Fondazione, Claudia Squitieri.
